Service description
Via VPN (Virtual Private Network), you can gain access from home to secure services that are otherwise only accessible in the campus network. An encrypted connection is established via a normal internet connection through the VPN client to the VPN endpoint at the HHU. After authentication, access is the same as from the campus network.
The service is available to all HHU staff and students for official purposes.
The ZIM offers VPN access to the HHU campus network with an OpenVPN server. You can access the OpenVPN server at vpn.hhu.de. A login with the university username is required here.
Beforehand, it is necessary to install an OpenVPN client.
No additional fees are charged to users for the service.
