Easyroam - the new access to eduroam (wifi)

[Translate to English:] Zoom

[Translate to English:]

On November 12, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., the old authentication method for the eduroam Wi-Fi network will be discontinued. Please remember to set up easyroam on your devices by then. This change also affects all HHU members who use eduroam at other institutions worldwide.

Further information on the transition:
We are switching the eduroam Wi-Fi access to easyroam! The eduroam network itself will remain the same, but the login process will be simpler and significantly more secure. The ability to use eduroam at other universities worldwide is unaffected.

From now on, Wi-Fi access will use a certificate negotiated between the user’s device and the eduroam servers. This certificate is valid for three months and can be renewed with a single click. University credentials (user ID and password) are only needed for generating the certificate and are no longer required for connection, meaning they no longer need to be stored on your device.

The old method will continue to work until November 12, 2024. After this date, access will only be possible via easyroam.

We kindly ask everyone to switch to easyroam for Wi-Fi access as soon as possible.
